Kylie's first day

Kylie had her first day of preschool last week. She is so excited because she gets to ride the bus with all her friends and she loved her class. Now with her gone at noon, I can actually take naps with Tyson sometimes!!! I am so excited. I just switched Caden to the early bird schedule however, so he will be home an hour earlier, which will shorten my naps to only two hours, ha ha.
Kylie is the biggest poser I ever met. Everytime I raised the camera her had goes to her chin, see below. I had her pictures taken by a photographer on Thursday and you should have seen her go. The photographer would position her and then as soon as the camara started flashing, Kylie would go into action. She would dramatically hit a new pose after every click and they were not cute. I just hope we got some decent pics for all the effort that went into them, we will have to wait and see.

Tooth Fairy

He finally lost his first, and second, tooth! Caden has wanted to lose a tooth for over a year now. All of his friends have lost multiple teeth and his have not wiggled a bit. Finally I noticed a tooth growing in behind his bottom teeth. I took him to the dentist and he agreed that we should pull two of his bottom teeth to make room for the one coming in. I did not really tell Caden much of why he was there and was getting my teeth cleaned when the dentist was with him (I thought he was with Kylie for her checkup, but he had gone straight to Caden). I did not even hear a peep, next thing I know Caden comes in with a huge smile and his two teeth in an envelope. They had to give him a shot and everything and he did not cry or whine at all. What a little stud! Luckily, the tooth fairy did come last night and left him some money, he was so happy!

I took this picture when I was at the computer and Tyson came up to push the power button, I grabbed my camera and said "Tyson, No" in my strict voice and this was the little face that looked up at me, he knows he is in trouble! How could anyone get mad at a little face like this?

Back to School

Well,we all say it, but I am going to say it again....These kids are growing up way to dang fast!!! I just sent Caden off to his first two days of first grade. I was sad to have him gone all day and nervous on how he would do, but he is doing great, so far. The first day when he got off the bus he was near tears, when I asked him what was wrong, he started crying because he did not get to sit by his friend on the bus. Oh the traumas of a child. After that I asked him how the rest of the day went. He said it was good except for one thing. I had written him a note and put it in his lunch that said "I hope you have a happy day. I love you. Heart, Mom". Well, he accidentally threw the note away with his lunch and he said it made him sad the rest of the day because he wanted to keep it. That kind of defeated the whole purpose of the note which was to make him happy. Now he insists I put a note in every lunch I pack. Here are a few pics from the first day. When he had gotten off the bus the second day, he had a huge smile and could not stop talking about all the fun he had that day and his new friends in class. Phew.

Kylie, just had her first soccer practice. At first she did not want to go because she thought she would not score a point and would not win. Once I told her it is all about playing a game and having fun with friends, she got excited. The little girls and one boy were all so cute. They had so much fun with the drills and games. They may not be the best team, but they are the most adorable. The thing Kylie was most happy about and talked most about was the fact that her dad is her coach, she loves it!

Tyson the terror going after anyones ball he could get to. I am surprised he escaped without a kick to the head.

Summer Lovin

Poor Trent, he is always saying how unfair it is that he has to work everyday and I am always getting to take the kids to the pool and other fun places all summer long. I then try to explain to him the responsibility of watching all the kids, the endless fighting, the whining, and how much it is not fun for me....but the truth is, he is so right. I LOVE THE SUMMER, I love taking the kids swimming and hanging out at the pool. When we have been home and the weather has allowed, we will go to one pool or another three times in a week. My friend Melissa takes us to the Pepperwood pool every Tuesday. We got membershiops to Classic with some other familys in the neighborhood and have gone to Classic waterslides about once a week, and the kids love the American Fork pool, so we have played there quite a bit too.

As soon as I tell Kylie I am taking a picture she tweaks her shoulder and strikes her pose.

These next three pictures illustrate my kids and how they are with water.

Caden has always loved the water. We had to be so vigilent whenever he was near water as a toddler because he would just jump right in and sink like a stone if we weren't watching. This year in swim lessons he learned multiple front and back strokes and learned to dive (it is more of a belly flop but don't tell him I said that).

Kylie on the other hand has always been very fearful of the water. This year she made great progress. At the beginning of the summer she would cry if she got splashed and even with a life jacket on, she would cling to me for her life. By the end of the summer she can now swim on her own with her life jacket and will even put her whole head under water. She is still very careful around water. She will only go on the classic slides with mom, we pushed her down a big slide there once on her own and it did not go over too well. I can't believe you pushed her Linz, that was so harsh, ha ha ha. Below is a picture of her going on the baby slide.

And here she is holding up a line now because she is scared to go and just sat there in fear. But who could blame her, that slide is HUGE!!

Tyson is like Caden. He loves the water. You can splash him, dunk him and he does not even care. He will crawl into the pool until his head is completely covered if you let him (trust me, I tried it to see if he would keep going until he was under and he did). He is a little water bug.

One day we had quite the adventure riding Trax downtown with my friend Michelle and her kids. Wow, there were a lot of interesting people on that train, both ways. I did not like it. One of them asked my kids what their first and last names are, where we are going and things I did not want them to know. We were asked for money by a guy who proclaimed himself a sinner and told us how much we sparkled. On the train we sat by a weird guy who would not stop talking to me and Caden kept asking me why I was talking to a stranger...because he would not leave me alone. Once we got to the museum we had so much fun! The kids love the Childrens Discovery Museum and I love watching them pretend.

Kylie was the mom going to the store and cooking in the house. Caden was the mailman.

We went to Cowabunga Bay. That is such a fun place, but it was way cold on the day that we went, too bad. I had fun just chatting with my friend while the kids played.




Speaking of "summer Lovin" I guess our hamsters got some. When we got the hamsters for Easter, the Easter Bunny told us they were all girls. Apparently the pet store where the Easter bunny shops was wrong. Yesterday Caden came down and told us to come see the hamster babies. Sure enough, there are five little hairless babies rolling around in there. Trent picked one up on a spoon to try and take a picture and the mom ran over there, grabbed the baby with her mouth, and took it to the corner with the others and started burying them to protect them, it was so cute. We will have to see if the survive, they are just over a day old as of now. The kids love them.



Tyson and his buddy, Bella. He loves having the bird on his shoulder. He holds very still and makes the funniest faces.

Tyson chilling on the couch watching his favorite show, Baby Einstein's Baby Newton. He will sit still and watch the entire thing. Needless to say I take advantage of that quite often.

So now the kids go to school this week. Caden is in first grade now and will be gone all day. I am having issues with that and having a hard time letting him go for that long. I don't like having to trust someone I don't even know to take care of my little one for that long and trust that she will treat him right. Kylie is going into preschool at Ridgeline and will get to ride the bus. It is four days a week, but I plan on keeping her home alot, because four days is too many. I am so sad the summer is practically over.
